The Best Warranty Coverage
TimberTech products are engineered the right way, to last. And many are covered by leading warranties. See full warranty details.

Can SIDELoc be used with TimberTech Composite composite deck boards?
No, SIDELoc is ONLY for use with TimberTech Advanced Polymer capped polymer deck boards and should NOT be used with Composite deck boards or Reliaboard.

What tools are required for installing SIDELoc?
All you need to get started is a variable speed drill and the correct SIDELoc Guide(s), sold separately:
For standard 140 mm decking, use the SIDELoc 140 mm Guide
For narrow 89 mm decking, use the SIDELoc 89 mm Guide
For wide 184 mm decking, use the SIDELoc 140 mm Guide with a 184 mm Extension piece

Should I purchase SIDELoc 48 mm or 60 mm fasteners?
SIDELoc 48 mm fasteners are made from 304 stainless steel and suitable for most installations of 25 mm thick square-shouldered TimberTech Advanced Polymer decking, including narrow, standard, and wide-width boards.

SIDELoc 60 mm fasteners are made from marine grade 316 stainless steel, making them more suitable for corrosive environments and coastal applications. The 60 mm screws are also required for installing 38 mm thick Vintage MAX and Harvest MAX boards.

Can SIDELoc be used with your TimberTech Advanced Polymer line of porch boards (e.g. T&G boards)?
SIDELoc 60 mm can be used to fasten Advanced Polymer porch boards (see TimberTech Advanced Polymer Porch Boards Installation Guide for more details). SIDELoc 48 mm fasteners and SIDELoc Guides are not compatible with Advanced PVC porch.

Can SIDELoc be used with PVC or capped polymer decking manufactured by another decking company?
No, SIDELoc was engineered specifically for TimberTech Advanced Polymer capped polymer decking. We do not recommend or warrant the use of SIDELoc with any competitive decking product.

Can SIDELoc be used with grooved decking?
No, SIDELoc is only compatible with TimberTech Advanced Polymer square-shouldered deck boards.

Can SIDELoc be used with Vintage MAX and Harvest MAX products?
SIDELoc 60 mm fasteners can be used to install 38 mm thick Vintage MAX and Harvest MAX boards. SIDELoc 48 mm fasteners should NOT be used with MAX boards as the shorter screw does not provide enough thread embedment into the joist.

Is there anything special that I need to know about using SIDELoc with Advanced PVC narrow (89 mm) or wide-width (184 mm) deck boards?
Two fasteners are required at every board-to-joist intersection, regardless of deck board width. The correct SIDELoc Guide(s) must be purchased to ensure proper screw position and deck board spacing.

Can SIDELoc be used in vertical applications? For example, when using deck boards as cladding on the side of a house or building?
No, we do not recommend SIDELoc for vertical applications (i.e. decking as cladding).

I have seen similar fasteners online or at my local lumberyard (e.g. CAMO). Are these fasteners OK to use with TimberTech Advanced Polymer decking boards?
No, the CAMO Edge system and similar competitive fastening systems are not compatible with TimberTech AZEK boards. SIDELoc fasteners were designed with a sharp point tip optimized for Advanced PVC boards, feature aggressive reverse threads to prevent pigtails, are installed with automatic 3 mm board spacing using the SIDELoc Guide, and are covered by TimberTech’s product and labor warranties.
